Atish Dipankar was a Buddhist monk from Bengal who lived in the 10th and 11th centuries. He was a master of various fields of knowledge, such as philosophy, logic, medicine, astrology, and linguistics. He wrote many influential texts on Buddhism and translated Sanskrit scriptures into Tibetan. He traveled to Tibet and other Asian countries to spread the teachings of Mahayana Buddhism. He was revered as the Second Buddha by the Tibetans and as a national hero by the Bangladeshis. He is considered one of the greatest figures in the history of Buddhism and Asian culture.
